Annoyed with the Twitter image previews on your Timeline?

Twitter rolled out an update for their social network on both desktop, and mobile versions last week. It happens though that as we expected change is difficult to embrace. Twitter is intentions though are positive and understandable. They want to raise more income from the ads and improve your experience viewing images uploaded by your Twitter followers.

Most people have expressed dissatisfaction with this new feature on Twitter and as such, we have thought it fit to bring to you a guide that will enable you take off those image previews on your Twitter timeline.

On your iPhone;

  1. Go to the your profile page (tab on the bottom right)
  2. Tap the gear icon
  3. Tap Settings
  4. Now simply scroll down and tap the toggle next to “Image Previews” to disable Twitter’s timeline photos

On your Android Smartphone:

  1. Go to your profile page by tapping on the tab on the top right
  2. Tap the gear icon
  3. Tap Settings
  4. Scroll down and uncheck the box next to “Image Previews”

You are now good to go. The sad bit though is that there is now possible way to remove these image previews on the Desktop version at Twitter.com yet. The Twitter ads are here to stay too on both mobile and desktop Twitter.
