F-BOMB TRACKING, THIS SITE TRACKS TWITTER CURSES IN REAL TIME AND MAPS THEM OUT.
That word that a good number of us go to whenever we feel frustrated, and maybe surprised, I think. Well, a site, FBomb.co, maps out exactly where the F-word is dropped on Twitter, to add to that, it collects this information in real time.
THIS SITE SHOWS THAT AMERICA AND BRITAIN ARE THE LEADERS, WHEN IT COMES TO DROPPING THE F-BOMB ONLINE.
The tagged map shows that New York is tagged as the biggest offender. I mean, no surprise there right?
The sites creator Martin Gingras, a junior at Carleton University in Ottawa, Canada claims that the map not only tracks the F-bombs as they happen, but also features pins that can be clicked to see a tweet and who tweeted it. The official site Twitter handle @FBomb_co retweets some of these tweets randomly.
Gingras claims that the idea came to him and some of his friends as they had an argument about how swearing can completely undermine ones argument. They had earlier been talking about personal projects that they were working on and it isn’t hard to figure out how the idea came about.
The bulk of offenders are English-speaking countries, which also comes as no shock. However, it was noted that the frequency at which the non-English speaking countries dropped the F-word was something else!
GINGRAS HOPES THAT THE SITE WILL MAKE PEOPLE THINK TWICE BEFORE EFFING-UP THE SOCIAL SITE.
His innovation has already gained recognition from the likes of The Washington Post and Los Angeles Times
