Facebook’s Mark Zuckerberg now richer than Google and Amazon founders

Looks like the latest Facebook earnings have boosted Mark Zuckerberg in all positive ways. On Thursday, Mark Zuckerberg became the 16th richest man on earth, surpassing both Google Co-founders Larry Page and Sergey Brin, as well as Amazon’s Chairman and Founder Jeff Bezos.

Mark Zuckerberg’s new networth stands at $33.3 billion. On the Bloomberg Billionaire Index, Google’s Larry Page stands at number 17 while Sergey Brin is at number 18 with a net worth of $33.1 billion and $32.8 billion respectively. Amazon’s owner has a net worth of $32.6 billion making him the 20th richest man on earth.

Zuckerberg’s increase was due to the latest increase in sales for Facebook as they recorded $2.81 billion in sales, which added $1.6 billion to Mark Zuckerberg’s pockets.

Mark Zuckerberg is now aged 30, and at $33.3 billion he still has quite a long way if he intends to beat the richest man on earth today. Bill Gates is number 1 with a net worth of $84.7 billion. There’s also Carlos Slim coming in second with $78.8 billion in his coffers. The third is Amancio Ortega, owner of the largest clothing retailer in the world with a net worth of $63.9 billion.

With recent reports claiming that Pinterest and Google Plus are starting to eat into Facebook’s user base, it’s only naive to imagine that Mark Zuckerberg could beat Bill Gates any time soon. However, as of now, at 16th, that’s not so bad.
