Former Ford CEO Alan Mulally joins Google’s Board of Directors
Alan brings a wealth of proven business and technology leadership experience. I am so pleased that Alan is now joining Google’s board!
That was the message that Google CEO, Larry Page, steadfastly premiered as he announced the addition of Alan Mulally, former Ford CEO, to their board. Allan Mullaly was the subject of much speculation that he would be the next Microsoft CEO following Steve Ballmer’s retirement. However, not so fast. Speculations were right about him joining a tech company, but that, as we can see happens to be Google instead. Not as CEO though.
His appointment was effective July 9th 2014, and he is expected to serve on Google’s Audit Committee.
“I am honored to serve on the board of a global iconic company that is dedicated to enhancing our lives,” Mulally said. “I look forward to working together with the Google board and management team to continue to deliver their compelling vision.”
Allan Mullay is a veteran corporate executive of the automotive and aviation industries. His experience while serving in the top poisitions of well known institutions like Ford, Boeing, MIT, and NASA will be a huge asset to Google.
