Google aims to bring its Android platform into the car.
Google is now gearing up to take on another major industry: automobiles. Having already been a big hit on the mobile and media devices front.
Rumor has it that the tech giant is in bed with Audi to integrate its open-source OS into their cars system.
More on that, Google recently revealed that it has teamed up with five other companies, among them General Motors, Hyundai, Honda and chip-maker NVIDIA. More are expected to come on board in future, all aiming to bring Android to cars.
That having been said, their main rivals were not to be left behind with Apple confirming that Honda, GM and Hyundai are some of its Siri Eyes Free partners.
The initiative could have connected cars from as early as mid this year, if not earlier.
