Instagram To Introduce Ads Soon
Instagram is going to roll out advertisements into your timeline in the next couple of months. Since Facebook purchased Instagram in March, it’s been looking for a way to make it a stable business and source of income. The answer to that could be to advertise brands.
Instagram also indicated on their blog post that they have now reached a total of 150 million users creating a strong global community since the invention of Instagram 3 years ago. The social network also raised too much anxiety when they indicated that they had big plans for the future and in order to achieve those dreams, they had to make Instagram a sustainable business.
“We have big ideas for the future, and part of making them happen is building Instagram into a sustainable business,” Â Instagram said on Instagram news.
If you are an Instagram user in the USA, expect to see an ad occasionally in your feed within the next couple of months. For the rest of the world it will come later, maybe after analyzing how it fairs in the US market. Instagram however promised that in implementing the ads, they would be careful not to post ads that don’t fit your interests. The ads could be customized to fit your interests depending on what you indicate in your profiles. Another promise was that they would make the ads fit into the site in such a way that they don’t look like spam.
“We’ll focus on delivering a small number of beautiful, high-quality photos and videos from a handful of brands that are already great members of the Instagram community. ”
They continued to divulge more information on this maybe with the fear that people would leave Instagram if their needs were not sure to be met:
“Our aim is to make any advertisements you see feel as natural to Instagram as the photos and videos many of you already enjoy from your favorite brands. After all, our team doesn’t just build Instagram, we use it each and every day. We want these ads to be enjoyable and creative in much the same way you see engaging, high-quality ads when you flip through your favorite magazine.”
Its a very tricky but brave idea that Instagram is bringing onto the platform. Several people are not pleased with the idea claiming that Instagram is just better the way it is. They would not want to be sold to advertisers like on Facebook. Whether this is a good move we are yet to see but what we know for sure is that business will be booming for Instagram.
Let us know what your thoughts are. As an Instagram user, would you be pleased if you saw Instagram ads on your feed?
