A map that shows the biggest stereotype of each state in the US

All thanks to the Twitter account @Amazing_Maps, we now have a general idea of how the internet stereotype situation in all the states of the US looks like. I mean, when you type in the phrase “why is New York so …” on Google, the suggestion that the site gives should be the stereotype that is most associated with that state. Thus, Google reveals the held assumptions that people have about a state.


In the case of New York, the rents in that place have convinced most that the place is expensive. This is the same for California, Hawaii, New Hampshire and Alaska. On the other hand, a few states actually come off as ‘poor’ to some people, am talking about South Carolina, Mississippi, Arkansas, Kentucky and West Virginia.
