Showdown: Xiaomi Mi 4 vs Apple iPhone 5s
Whenever a new phone comes out, its only fare that its judged by the existing Apple flagship. Here we go again with the one Xiaomi baby, Mi 4.
Hardware and Internal Fittings
Making no mistake the Mi 4 is a giant on the inside. Its bundled with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 801, a packed Quad-core 2.5 GHz Krait 400 processor and an Adreno 330 GPU. Its fitted with  3GB of RAM.  Versions of 16 and 64GB internal memory are expected in the market soon.
The good old Apple’s iPhone 5S has an Apple designed A7 chipset. The A7 is the among the first successful 64-bit architecture processors for mobile. To the App industry, this was a preparation of powerful apps expected in the future. The A7 has a sidekick motion processor which is designed to analyze information from the phones sensors and more.
Winner: iPhone 5s
Of design and all, apple always takes the crown home. From an angle of compactness and sturdiness, iPhone 5s is a marveling piece of technology that is better than what Neil Armstrong went with to space. The iPhone 5S is easier to hold and use when compared to most Android smartphones given its compact size. It feels expensive and premium in the hand owing to its solid aluminium back and metal frame with chamfered edges.
On the other hand, the Xiaomi Mi 4 also uses a gorgeous metal body and happens to be extremely light at a shocking 149g, which is only slightly heavier than the iPhone 5s (112 g). The phone feels sturdy when held and has managed to get rid of its predecessors’ ‘plasticky’ feel. It also has chamfered edges much like the iPhone and looks like a larger version of Apple’s smartphone in many ways.
Winner: iPhone 5s
The iPhone 5s uses a 4.0 inch LED-backlit IPS LCD which offers vibrant colours and crisp visuals. It has a resolution of 640 x 1136 pixels and a pixel density of 326 ppi.
The Mi 4 packs a 5-inch full-HD display with a resolution of 1080×1920 pixels. Pixel density: a sturning 441 ppi. I call it way above pay grade. This serves better at  videos, pictures and games making them look real life and fantastic. The iphone screen feels small and although its display is amazing, the Mi 4 beats it hands down.
Specs have never been part of apple`s smartphone wars for you should not be fooled by an 8MP camera. he Apple iPhone 5S is still one of the most powerful and practical smartphone cameras out there. It clicks quick pictures, shoots decent images in dark situations and has an improved front facing camera when compared to the iPhone 5. Thanks to the phone’s advanced processing, it can also shoot slow-mo video among other things. However, it happens to be rather outdated when compared to the Mi 4’s imaging package, which is easily superior on paper.
Do you want awesome selfies, here goes the Xiaomi with a massive 8 megapixel camera upfront, while there’s an even better 13-megapixel rear camera for other pictures. Both camera units sport Sony’s stacked CMOS sensors and promise to offer stellar image quality.
I do not judge software but everyone agrees that with iOS 8 in the kitchen, its easy to know that there will be a fare trade in the future. Android is a much more likable platform considering its openness but for security reasons many prefer iOS. However, Apple does have more high quality apps on its app store and is the preferred platform for developers.
We cant really select who wins here but you have to give it to Apple iPhone 5s which has gone through many tests and found to be user friendly. Its superior processor, fingerprint security and a blazing fast camera win.
